Lately, I have been craving simplicity. I told my husband that I’m feeling the need to become a minimalist. Of course, his response was that I like to shop too much to be a minimalist. This is true (he knows me so well). But I do like simple looks and I’ve been wanting do a bedroom makeover with a more simplified look.
If you remember the last time I shared my bedroom, I had the shelf with the baskets over the headboard. It was great for a while, but I was ready to change that up for a much simpler look.

I have dreams of a total bedroom transformation one day, but until then, I gave it a quick little makeover on a budget. The inspiration started with this beautiful Nicole Miller New York rug that I received from Home Dynamix. It is neutral with a hints of blues that I am loving. And it’s vintage look inspired me to add more vintage details to my bedroom.
Vintage Mirror
I decided to visit my storage to see what vintage goods I could find to use in my bedroom makeover. First up, this vintage lead glass mirror. I mean, how gorgeous is this! It actually came off of a dresser than I refinished and sold, but I held on to the mirror. And I’m so glad I did because I am loving it’s simplicity over my bed.
Theater Seats
The vintage theater seats were pulled from storage also. I originally purchased these for my foyer, but then found a church pew that I fell in love with and put in there. So I figured I’d pull these babies out and put them to use again. They make the perfect place to throw all those extra pillows at night.
Textures
I found this gorgeous textured pillow with the blues as HomeGoods. The minute I saw it, I knew it would coordinate perfect with the rug. And I snagged this beautiful pom pom blanket on Amazon. It is soooo soft and cozy!
That’s it friends! I added the rug, cleared the clutter from my night stands, added the vintage mirror and theater seats and a few textures to change up this space. I am loving the simplicity of it!
As I mentioned, I have BIG plans for this room in the near future! So many fun changes will take place in this space. They are all floating around my head right now and I can’t wait to bring them to life. Just as soon as the hubby gets healed up from his back surgery, I’ll be putting him to work. 😉
See ya soon friends. Be blessed! xoxo
I.LOVE.IT!!!! Less is more in my book. Beautiful.
Thank you so much, Karen! I’m starting to feel the same way!! 🙂
Love your bedroom makeover and the mirror is perfect! I have to agree with you on simplicity. I think back to my great grandparents house (which my grandmother, Mom and I also grew up in) and long for that feeling it invokes! I am slowly trying to clear the clutter, which the flood in 2016 jumpstarted. I enjoy reading your posts, keep them coming 😃. It isn’t gumbo weather yet, but I think I’ll just have to put the AC lower and cook a big pot. We can dream it’s fall😉.
Heather, I adore your bedroom! I’m working on mine right now and am feeling the same way about having a simple look. I have a similar headboard and am a little stumped about what to hang over it, so I loved seeing what you did. Those theater seats are amazing. Wonderful work!
Where did you get the beautiful light hanging over your bed? I love it!
Thank you, Belinda! It’s from World Market.
