Hi BFA friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with lots of family, fun, and good food. I pretty much stayed in my PJs the entire day of Thanksgiving and loved every minute of it! Late that evening, I finally got dressed and we took the youngest to see The Grinch. It was such a cute movie and I highly recommend it if you have kids (and even if you don’t). It was the perfect movie to put me in the Christmas spirit. I guess it’s socially acceptable to share all things Christmas now that we’ve made it through Thanksgiving. Well, get ready cause I have soooo much to share! I have lots of Christmas DIYs coming your way soon. But first, I’m going to start with a cozy Christmas living room tour.
Now go grab you a big ole cup of hot cocoa and put on your favorite Christmas music because my picture overload may take you a minute to get through this Christmas living room. 😉

The Tree(s)
When I pulled out all of my Christmas decor, I honestly forgot how many trees I had. I purchased several last year to use for a holiday show that I was doing. Then I purchased a few more when they went on clearance after Christmas. When I pulled them out of the boxes a few weeks ago, I stacked them all in front of the window in the living room because I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with all of them yet.
A week or so went by and I still hadn’t gotten around to moving any. My boys asked if I was keeping all of the trees there and said it looked like we had a forest in our living room. And I thought to myself, I kinda like this winter wonderland forest. So at that moment I decided this would be the permanent home for the trees. I started putting them in a few vintage crocks and baskets and now have a mini forest in my living room. The trees became my inspiration for the rest of the Christmas living room decor.
Most of the trees came from Walmart. Their 6′ flocked trees are my absolute favorite! It’s such a pretty tree for a steal of a price.
I shared the wood bead garland in my windows a few months ago, and i’m loving it even more with my Christmas decor!
The Mantel
I knew that I wanted to do something really simple and elegant on the mantel this year. The vintage mirrors were recent flea market finds that I layered and placed some brass candlesticks in front of them. Then, I added 2 mini trees on each end of the mantel. The garland is actually 3 strands of pine garland from Michael’s that I wove together. The 2 strands of bell garland are also from Michael’s and I just draped those over the top of the pine garland.
I already had the olive bucket with the birch logs that I had filled with pumpkins for my fall decor. I removed the pumpkins and added some evergreen and pinecones for a quick transition to Christmas. This could actually transition all the way through winter.
I love the cozy feel that Christmas decor exudes. The only thing that could make this space any cozier is if there was a fire burning in that fireplace. But it’s not always cold enough in Louisiana to light a fire. We’ve had a few so far, but not many.
The Bench Seats
We actually had built-in bookshelves on the sides of our mantel at one time. We tore those out and added the bench seats on each side. Not only do I love the way they look, but they provide the extra seating we needed in our small living room.
This vintage chalkboard hangs above one of my bench seats and I love changing it out for each of the seasons. I made the hoop wreaths last year, but had them in a different spot because I didn’t have this awesome chalkboard last Christmas. I love the way they pop against the green of the chalkboard.
Believe it or not, this gorgeous pom-pom blanket is from Amazon. The cute Fresh Farm Christmas Trees pillow is from my friend Faith at Faith & Chloe Designs.
The bench seat on the other side of the fireplace is about half the size. I found this wood and rope tree at HomeGoods. It had ornaments hanging from it, but many of them were broken or missing so I was able to snag it on clearance for $8! I cut off the rest of the ornaments and I wrapped the twinkle lights around it because you can never have enough twinkle lights at Christmastime.
The 3′ tree in the crock is another one of my favorites from Walmart.
The JOY macrame also came from HomeGoods. I think this is the only red that I have in my Christmas living room. I was going for a natural winter wonderland so I tried to keep things pretty neutral.
The Banister-Rail
The banister-rail is where I had my Christmas hoop wreaths last year. This year, I kept it a little simpler and put a single scroll on it. I love this ‘Twas the night before Christmas scroll by my friend Lara at Peonies & Twine.
I picked up the glass cloches and bottle brush trees from Michael’s. And the yarn trees were a DIY that I’ll be sharing soon.
The TV Console
The TV console is my least favorite space in the living room. If it were up to me we wouldn’t even have a tv (I never watch tv). And there is not much you can do to make a big black box on the wall look pretty.
I created a little village on the console with the mini white houses and bottle brush trees from the Target Dollar Spot. The larger bottle brush trees are from Hobby Lobby.

So glad you were inspired, Laura! Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!!
Your room is so pretty. The decorations are light and airy like winter snow. Merry and bright! I absolutely adore that 2-drawer cabinet on top of the table where the cloches are. Is it an antique piece? I’m falling all over myself looking at it!
Krya!!! Thank you so very much for your sweet words! I’m not sure it the drawer is antique – made just vintage. I found it from a vendor at a local vintage market. Happy holidays to you!!
Your living room is an absolute wonderland! So stunning! I want it all!
GENIUS! Give me all of the trees, please! I just love the forest. Looks so cool.
