Hello there friends! I hope you all are enjoying this first week of October. October is my absolute favorite month! I just wish it felt like fall already. It’s still 90 degrees in Louisiana with a humidity of 1000 percent. There are several reasons I love October so much. It’s the beginning of fall and you all know that fall is my favorite! Also, my birthday is in October, as well as 2 of my son’s and my mom’s birthdays. So we do lots of celebrating of life in October. I think I’ve counted back and figured out that we are a bunch of Valentine’s conceptions. haha. Anywho, today I wanted to share my fall tablescape with you all and share how I came up with this idea.
I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. – L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
A few weeks ago, I did a fall blog hop with some of my very talented blogger friends. I was so inspired by my sweet friend Caitlin’s tablescape! I loved all of the colors and textures she used and I wanted to create something similar for my fall tablescape.

Fall Tablescape
My formal dining room is actually used for storage in my home. Real life problems. But luckily, I have a breakfast nook in my kitchen where I have a small round table that we manage to squeeze our family of 5 around. However, it does present a bit of a challenge for creating tablescapes. It’s just not as easy to style a round table as it is a rectangle table.
The Scroll
The first thing that I did was lay a scroll across the table. The scroll was made with a roll of kraft paper, a sharpie, and my sister’s beautiful hand-lettering.
The Centerpiece
I placed a wood slice on the center of the scroll and put a gallon sized amber bottle on top to be used as a vase. Varying heights and adding lots of textures are two things that I always like to do when I decorate.
The Fresh Florals & Fruit
I had some brass candlesticks that I mixed in around the centerpiece. Then I added some fresh florals, eucalyptus and nectarines on top of the scroll. They all came from Trader Joe’s. You just can’t beat their price on fresh florals!
The Truth
Truth be told, all of this is already gone from the table. It made for a pretty photo shoot, but it’s not practical for every day. Many times, I style areas with objects from all over my house to snap a few pics, then put everything back in its place. I just want to be real and let you guys know that I like to style pretty pictures, but we are your typical family that does life in our home and have lots of messes and chaos at all times. I have 3 boys ranging in ages from 4-14 y’all. There is never a dull moment!
Again, I know this isn’t your everyday table, but I hope you were able to gain some inspiration from it to create a space you love (even if it’s to just snap a few pics). Next week I’ll be sharing my fall porch so make sure you come back for that.
Have a great weekend friends! Be blessed!! xoxo
beautiful
Thank you so much!!! Have a fabulous day!
Beautiful and simple, love it!! Where did you get the amber glass bottle, I’ve never seen one that big? Makes a great centerpiece. Fall is a favorite of mine. It’s nice to get a reprieve from the Louisana heat and humidity 😃🍂🌾
Thank you, sweet friend! I found the amber bottle at an antique store in New Roads. I think it is an old Clorox bottle. I cannot wait for the cooler weather!!! 🙂
Heather, you are so sweet to link my home tour! Thank you! I love what you did with the florals and nectarines. Didn’t they smell amazing? My son had lots of fun playing with them after my photoshoot (because let’s be real, my tablescapes only last long enough to shoot a few photos too!). I love the encouragement in your posts. Thank you for the pretty inspiration 🙂
