The painting of the foyer is in progress! It would be so much more exciting to say that it is done. But, nope, it’s not. I love painting furniture, but walls, not so much. As we are painting this room, ideas keep going through my head on how I am going to decorate it.
If you missed our shiplap install, be sure to check it out [HERE]. It was definitely one of my favorite projects so far.
So now I have this beautiful shiplaped foyer that is completely empty. A blank slate. Actually, I love starting with a blank slate because it allows your imagination to run free.
I have a good idea of how I want to style this room, but I have one teeny tiny dilemma. I know that I want a farmhouse look in the foyer, but I can’t decide if I want a bench or a table. Decisions, decisions. I mean, picking a paint color was hard enough. By the way, I went with Dove White by Benjamin Moore (thanks for everyone’s input). The color looks amazing!
I have been browsing Pinterest like a maniac trying to get some ideas, but that has only complicated the decision. As you all know, there are some beauties on Pinterest! By the way, does anyone else get lost on Pinterest for hours on end. I mean, you start looking for one specific thing and it leads you to another, and another, and so on. And before you know it, you realize it’s midnight and you have to get up in 5.5 hours to go to work. Yes, I’ve been a little sleep deprived lately. Sleep is overrated anyway, right? That’s what coffee is for.
So, go grab a cup of coffee and let’s get started. I’m going to share a few ideas that I’ve found browsing the web and I’d like to hear your input. First we’ll take a look at the benches.
The first one is from Liz Marie Blog. Oh my! If you’ve never visited her blog, you are missing out. Every single picture is swoon worthy! Check out this gorgeous entry…
The next bench is from the talented Laney at Pine and Birch. Doesn’t this look so cozy and farmhouse-y! I would want everyone to come through my front door with an entrance like this.
Laura McNelly at McNelly Farmhouse Love created this beautiful entry. I love that this space looks so practical and usable.
This next one is from Lauren at Bless’er House. I have really been thinking about having a sign made to hang in the foyer, but I want something original. It would be really neat to make my own. What do you guys think? Maybe we’ll do a little DIY soon (hint, hint). I also want one of those cute little market bags!
So now that we are done swooning over benches, let’s take a look at some table ideas for the foyer.
I found this first one on Brittany York’s Instagram feed. I love the way she styled those old windows and added the elements of wood, glass and greenery. It’s the perfect balance. I already have a sideboard similar to this that just needs to be painted, and I have a ton of old windows.
The next table is from Home Decor Momma. Her husband actually made this console table, and I’m pretty sure my talented hubby could do the same.
The last picture is from Kristie on Instagram. I love the way she styled this foyer table. This beautiful table can be found at World Market, and it is actually on sale right now.
Check out these vintage hooks and this cute little market bag I found on Amazon (click image to shop). It would be so cute to fill that market bag with a bouquet of beautiful flowers and hang it on one of the hooks in my foyer. I pretty sure I’ll be ordering these.
So there’s the roundup of my favorite farmhouse foyers. What do you guys think? Bench or table? Comment below and let me know your thoughts. I can’t wait to share the completely finished and decorated foyer with you all. Hopefully it will all come together soon. Thanks for stopping by. xo
Love these ideas!
Thanks, Audrea!
Love all if these but i think i rather the bench idea vs table
I’m leaning that way too! It just seems more cozy.
