It’s summertime y’all! As if you didn’t know by this massive heat index. Shout-out to all my Louisiana friends who are sippin’ sweet tea and wiping sweat from your brow on this hot summer day.
Anyway, I wish you all could log in and see my Amazon cart right now. It is completely… yellow. With lots of lemons. Needless to say, the color I chose for my summer decor inspiration is… yep, you guessed it… yellow! It’s so bright and cheery and fresh, and just perfect for the summertime.
Yellow is also my ten year old’s favorite color. Most boys favor blue or green, but nope, not mine. His favorite has been yellow since he first learned his colors. I love that about him. It matches his personality perfectly.
I’ve been browsing the web for some inspiration and today I wanted to share some of my finds with you (click the pics to shop the look).
I absolutely love this lemon topiary! Inside or out, this is the perfect addition to your summer decor. And, if you have a black thumb as I do, you can’t kill this one. Bonus! If you have a huge farm table or kitchen island, this would make a beautiful centerpiece. I would throw some burlap down and set this on top. Easy peasy lemon squeezy (which brings us to our next item).
Check out this cute little sign. This would look adorable on a kitchen counter with a bowl full of lemons next to it. And if you have a vintage scale to set that bowl of lemons on, even better. If you don’t have a vintage scale, you could set it on a wooden cutting board to add an element of warmth to it. Or, this would be a good time to just go buy that vintage scale you’ve been wanting anyway.
Here are a few little vignettes that I set up on my kitchen counter to give y’all some ideas.
So now that we have our counters all cute, let’s move on to the table settings.
If your table is on the smaller side, like mine, this garland would make a lovely table centerpiece. Drape it across the center of your table and find some cute plates to accent with. Setting your table is an easy way to add an inviting look to your home.
This is what my tablescape looks like. I used the centerpiece I already had and just added in a few lemon stems. The greenery in the center of the table is actually a wreath that I set my pitcher in.
This white pitcher would be so pretty with the yellow tulips. You could set this anywhere in your home to add a little color and lots of prettiness for the summer.
And how cute are these throw pillows! I LOVE pillows. I put them everywhere. They are cute and comfy, and just make any area look so darn inviting.
I added some eucalyptus in this dough bowl and added a few lemons to make a summer statement in my living room. So many of these items were already in my house. I just added a little summer freshness with some lemons.
Pin for later:
So those are a few of my fresh summer decor pieces. I’d love to hear how you all are incorporating summer into your home.
Simply amazing!
Great ideas!! Like I always say, when life gives you lemons, use them to decorate!
Yes! I love that, Nakeya! 😉
