Hey, hey friends! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was pretty low key. My youngest was sick, so we just enjoyed a lot of snuggles and movie time over the weekend. It was actually a nice break. I’m usually busy with lots of DIYs and such. Oh, and I also spent some time browsing vintage decor online. Another one of my favorite things to do. Today, I’m going to share some of my favorite vintage decor finds on Etsy.
Did you know that Etsy has vintage decor? How cool is that!! Now you don’t even have to get off of your sofa to go junkin. Yikes! That could be trouble for some of us. I think what I love most about vintage decor is that it’s “one of a kind.” Each piece is unique and has so much character. There may be another very similar, but it won’t have the same nicks, cracks, patina and history behind it. The only negative about the “one of a kinds” is that there is only one, so you have to grab them quick before they are gone. There have been several times that I saved an item in favorites only to go back and find SOLD next to it.
I love collecting things. I’ve started a few collections, but my “things I want to collect” list is steadily growing. Especially after meeting my sweet friend, Carrie @six_in_the_stix on Instagram. She has some of the most amazing collections I have ever seen and I’ll be sharing some of them with you all today! It is her collections and creativity that have given me the inspiration to add some of these items to my collections. So for my hubby that may be reading this, it’s all Carrie’s fault. 😉

My husband and I tease each other all the time that we were born in the wrong era. When we married, we had a 1920’s themed wedding and asked all of our guests to dress accordingly. It was the most fun! We both love old homes and vintage finds. We yearn for simpler times, before all the gadgets and electronics consumed us. When families still sat around dinner tables, neighbors looked after each other, and it was safe for kids to ride their bikes down the street. I’m almost afraid to think of what the world will be like when my kids become adults. Okay, on to happier things like vintage decor.

Vintage Mashers
One of the items on my “things I want to collect” list are these vintage mashers. Aren’t they so cool!? Is it the primitive rustic wood, the unique shapes, or the history of the hands that have touched them that speaks to this vintage lovin’ heart the most? I don’t know, but my heart skips a beat over finds like this.
Vintage Rolling Pins
I love my collection of Vintage Rolling Pins. I love all of the different shapes, sizes and colors of the wood. These are perfect to style in a vignette on your kitchen counter.

A Few of my Rolling Pins
French Bread Board
I am totally in LOVE with these French Bread Boards! I have been eyeing them for a while and would love to have a collection to display like Cottonwood Acres (below).
Kitchen Scale
Kitchen scales are another thing that I enjoy collecting. I love all the different shapes and colors of the kitchen scales. How cool is the jadeite color on this one? I have a vintage scale on my kitchen counter that I love to style. Scales are beautiful whether they stand alone or you group them in a collection.
Seltzer Bottles
Seltzer bottles are another cool item to collect. These were used to carbonate beverages before bottled carbonated beverages were a thing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful for bottled beverages, but how awesome would it be to make your own.
Demijohn
Every farmhouse needs a Demijohn, even if it’s a replica. The authentic Demijohns can be pretty costly. Many of them on Etsy are actually shipped from France, so the shipping alone can be expensive. The green tinted ones are my favorite, but those seem to be so hard to find. I love the way Whitetail Farmhouse styled hers (below)!
Dough Bowl
Check out these Large Dough Bowl Trenchers! Oh my goodness, they are gorgeous!!! One of these would make a beautiful centerpiece on a large farmhouse table. You could also prop them up in a corner or by your fireplace to add a natural wood element to warm up your space. I have a large trencher bowl that I styled during the fall that you can check out {HERE}.
Tobacco Basket
Not that I am promoting the use of tobacco, but I sure do love the look of an authentic Tobacco Basket. I purchased mine at First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Texas, but it was originally picked out of barn in North Carolina. These beauties are so hard to come by. I about fell over when I spotted mine in Canton. The guy that I purchased from said he had a whole slew of them and I was lucky enough to get the very last one he had (and this was on the first day of the show). They are beautiful to display over a fireplace because they are so massive.

Chippy White Corbels
Those who know me, know that I love all things chippy white. And these Chippy White Corbels are no exception! I have been on the hunt for the perfect size corbels to fit under my mantel (pictured above), but haven’t come across the perfect pair yet. Corbels can be both functional and aesthetic. They are beautiful to place under a mantel or shelf, but they are also just a beautiful sitting on a bookcase or dresser.
Architectural Salvage
This would be a bit of a splurge for me, but how gorgeous is this 1800s Victorian Wood Arch Header!? Architectural Salvage adds so much charm and character to your decor. I have an old porch railing hanging on my wall that I have decorated with DIY hoop wreaths that I change out for each season. I swoon over all of Liz Marie’s beautiful Architectural Salvage. She has soooo much chippy goodness in her home!

My Chippy White Banister Rail
A few of the things that I’ve started collecting are rolling pens, vintage brass candlesticks, milk glass vases, vintage books, glass bottles, anything copper, and anything chippy white. A few things that I would love to start collecting are vintage clocks, mashers, and bread boards.
How about you? What collections do you have or what would you like to start collecting? I’d love to hear in the comments below.
Make today amazing my friends! xoxo
Very unique items! I had no idea that Etsy had such a collection. Vintage gives character to everything!
wow what a great collection! I love the tobacco basket the most, it is quite unique! now i will check etsy for this, i just shop there for fashion lol
I’ve only just started buying home items on Etsy, and I just love how unique their pieces are!
Wow! Good finds. I have always wanted one of those demijohns. Thanks for pointing me in their direction. ❤️
These truly are the best vintage home decor collection. Great post!
I think you picked all the best things to go on this list. I have several of these that I own already, and there are several more I desire to obtain. So I think this list is very comprehensive for all farmhouse decor needs. Good job!
Heather—I am in love with your banister on the wall. I was lucky enough to find one today at a shop. Now for the question–I can see you hung it on the wall with 2 screws and then hung the banister on the two screws. Did you do anything else to secure it? I will be taking your lead and hang really light stuff on it like the embroidery hoop wreaths so it won’t have anything that weighs a whole lot on it. Thanks for your advice.
Jo Ann
You are too sweet, Jo Ann! Thank you so much!! We hung it with 3 screws – one on each end and one in the middle. You will want to make sure your screws are in studs or use drywall anchors. That seems to keep in pretty sturdy. I have 3 boys that are constantly running around it and it’s stayed in place. 😉 I hope this helps. Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you have a fabulous day!
Oh this post is full of so much eye candy! Love it!
