I’d have to say that the Fourth of July is probably one of the cheapest holidays to decorate for. Seriously. Basically, you buy a bunch of 99 cent flags and stick them all over your house. That’s pretty much what I did this year for my Fourth of July decor, along with a few other things. It kinda has a vintage vibe that I’m loving.
I’m sure that most of you know by now that decorating on a budget is my jam. I’m always on the lookout for the best deals. I shared a lot of my shopping tips HERE. So you can rest assure that these Fourth of July decor ideas are going to be very budget friendly.
Before we get in to the decor, I wanted chit-chat for a minute. I’ve been blogging for almost a year now and some of you have been following along since the very beginning and I wanted to give you all a great big THANK YOU! I had no clue what I was getting myself into when I started this journey, but I’m so glad I decided to give it a go. I absolutely love blogging and getting to know some of you. It has become one of my favorite hobbies! But it wouldn’t be possible without all of YOU and I could never give you all enough thank you’s!!!

Vintage-Inspired Fourth of July Decor

The Foyer
We’ll start in the foyer. I love adding holiday touches to my foyer. It is probably one of my favorite spaces in my home to decorate. I picked up the market bag a few months ago in the Dollar Spot at Target. I stuck a flag on it and tied a scarf that I found in a local thrift store. Voila! An easy and affordable transition to Fourth of July decor.
I’m in love with this oversized burlap pillow that I picked up at Kirklands. It fits perfectly on my vintage church pew.
The Living Room
Next, we’ll head to the living room. I picked up this old schoolhouse vintage chalkboard at an antique store recently. It was one of those amazing finds where your heart starts racing with excitement and you want to scream out in the store. Am I the only one who experiences that with vintage finds!? Surely not, right?
I picked up the flag banner Hobby Lobby last year after the Fourth of July. I got it for 80 cents! Didn’t I tell you I love bargains!!
On the mantel, I placed some vintage blue Ball mason jars with some of those 99 cent flags in them. By the way, I picked up my flags at Target, but they have them pretty much everywhere. I also draped a large flag down the center of my mantel (held in place by the vintage seltzer bottles).
Another favorite area to style for the holidays is my chippy white banister rail. I added a flag banner and some patriotic decor on the table. I love adding vintage pieces into my decor – as if you couldn’t tell ;).

This patriotic printable is from Brynne Decor Prints. Printables are an easy and inexpensive way to add that little extra to your decor.
I picked up the vintage typewriter and mailbox on a recent trip to Canton, Texas. And those little books are bank registers from 1911 & 1913. How cool is that!
The Kitchen
In the Kitchen, I mostly just created little vignettes on my counters with some flags and a few Rae Dunn pieces. Along with lots of my vintage decor, of course.
The Breakfast Nook
The breakfast table is pretty simple. I cut some fresh blooms off of my hydrangea bush and placed them in a white pitcher with a couple of flags for my centerpiece. I used my everyday white plates and added blue napkins tied with a flag. Easy peasy!
The Sitting Area
My sitting area has quickly become my new favorite space in my house. I recently deconstructed the sofa in this space. If you missed that DIY, you can check it out HERE.
All I did to this space was add the oversized flag pillow to the sofa and the Coca-Cola crate with the milk glass vases and flags.
I hope this gives you a little inspo to add some patriotic decor to your home. Just grab a few flags and start sticking the places. Also, look around your house for anything that you already have that is red, white or blue and look for ways to incorporate those items into your Fourth of July decor.

I’m jealous. I want my house to look like this for Fourth of July now! I like decorating for it, too, because you can go easy on the budget and not make it too festive, like people are tempted to do for, say, Christmas. Anyway, I love how your design style just starts with the little things and builds up from there. All those glass jars and that Coca-Cola crate tie the room together really well, and that to me is a more satisfying wow factor than one huge statement piece. You did a great job, and happy early Fourth to you and your family!
