Have you ever desperately wanted something, but no matter what you did, it just didn’t seem to happen and you were left with disappointments?
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12
From time to time, all of us face disappointments that can leave our heart feeling sick. These disappointments tend to leave us with more questions than answers. But even though we may not understand and don’t have all the answers, God does. Whatever our circumstances, whether we stand atop the highest mountain or wander through the darkest valley, God is with us and He is for us. And He is ALWAYS working for our GOOD!
I look back today and realize that if God would have given me what I wanted when I wanted it, I wouldn’t be where I am today and I wouldn’t be who I am today.
It took me many years to get to this point, but today I welcome disappointments. Disappointments keep me dependent on God. If I had all I ever wanted when I wanted it, I wouldn’t feel the need to seek God and deeply depend on Him each day.
Every concern you have, big or small, matters to God because you matter to God. Whether it’s your marriage, children, career, finances, or anything else, bring it to him in prayer until you find peace. One day you will likely look back and have an aha moment and thank God for his perfect timing.
