Happy Sunday, friends! I’m typing this as we are traveling home from a little weekend getaway. We decided to take a last minute, and much needed, trip to Grand Isle, Louisiana for the weekend. The reason that we decided to take this last minute trip was to make some memories with our family. We invited my parents to join us on the trip.
“Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.” Luke 2:19
My husband and I both remember going to Grand Isle with our families when we were kids. They are some of our most cherished memories. The early morning fishing trips, catching crabs, and swimming in the ocean are things that kids don’t forget.
We talked about our childhood memories with our children as we were traveling. And we hoped that we would create some special memories on this trip that they would one day share with their children.
I believe that memories are one of the most precious gifts that we can give to those we love. Memories allow us to relive special moments over and over again. Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
One day each of us will only be a memory to our loved ones. So let’s love our tribe hard and make our moments count.
Let’s take heed from the wisdom of Mary and treasure those special moments in our hearts.
